The Queen from our Show Out Collection is the color used for The Queen of natural hair herself Taliah Waajid.

I and Beasting On Beauty, had the pleasure of working with Lenox + Parker Magazine in celebrating the beautiful Taliah Waajid. I felt so honored to get the opportunity to work with Ms. Waajid, I mean after all I grew up with her name and intricate braiding styles buzzing through the hallways of my high school almost daily. Girls flocked to get an appointment at her infamous salon in the historically black West End area of Atlanta. This opportunity to give her "a day face" was priceless!

When I tell you the moment was everything I could have hope for. Taliah was so sweet, all business, and open to collaborate with all of the creatives on set. She arrived alone (something rarely done). She came in light makeup, but trusting me, she took off her lashes and wiped off her beat and let me get to work. Her skin was like a beautiful dark chocolate souffle' and flawless. The photographer Nathan Percy said that he wanted color, and I knew the perfect one to go with the stylists choice. We were doing two looks. One a sexy form hitting two piece brown number, and two a pretty tropical flowing sundress. Creative director and editor and chief Christal Jordan, had a jungle theme on the set. A bright orangey lip would absolutely accentuate Taliah's youthful smile and give the essence of tropical flowers. Birds of Paradise was definitely the inspiration. It happens to be one of my favorite flowers.

The Queen is the most beautiful orange red. It's bold, sexy, and yet soft. I paired it with our soon to be released lip liner #6, and it set it off! The lip was lipping! I used a combination of products, but you all know I love my Nars Soft Matte Foundation, and Fenty Pro Filter Powder. A soft gold shadow on the lip, brows and plums in the crease, orange and magenta shades on the cheek... and voila'.... PERFECTION... If I do say so myself lol.

Ok but not only did a dream come true to do this cover (yes I still dream of covers), but Taliah did me a special solid. She made an exception for me to be able to get a both at her Natural Hair Show. It was one of my goals to bring Beasting On Beauty there this year, and due to having a wedding scheduled on the first day of the show I was told that I couldn't participate. Well, what can I say?! God had different plans. He said you will meet Ms. Waajid herself, slay her cover, she will wear your gloss, and she will let you set up on the last day to showcase your products....LOOK AT GOD!

So with that being said... Beasting On Beauty will be at the Natural Hair Show this Sunday, April 27th. We will have our fabulous glosses, our not released lip liners, andddd my amazing one of a king earrings.... IT'S GOING UP!
